D’isum Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, CEO: Tetsuya Kaneda, hereinafter D’isum) participated in a pitch contest on May 18, 2023, organized by Expanded North Star, the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, and GITEX Global. Expanded North Star is a commercial event aimed at startup companies, part of the event hosted by GITEX Global, the largest IT exhibition in the Middle East and Africa, held in Dubai. The 2023 event is planned to be held at the Dubai Harbor from October 15 to 18, and it is a major event where over 1,000 startups from approximately 70 countries and about 700 investors gather. The pitch contest held in Tokyo this time targeted Japanese startup companies, and the winners will be invited to the event for free.
D’isum passed the document screening of which deadline was May 11. As one of the ten finalists of the pitch event held at AWS’s startup loft in Meguro, Tokyo on the 18th, we presented our business and services in a three-minute presentation in English. The presentation was handled by Sana Talmoudi, who introduced the company and our unique technology that can visualize machine failure prediction with visualizing AI technology. It was a challenging to present the company, the values and services that it delivers within three minutes, and many presenters actually struggled. In such a difficult situation, D’isum was able to present the content we wanted to convey thanks to the dozens of pre-rehearsals. Unfortunately, we were unable to win, but we are satisfied that we received high praise from the judges at the networking party after the event, as we were told that we were one of the three companies competing for the championship until the end.
San Talmoudi, our CTO and board member and intern Zied Chaabane are from Tunisia and Data Scientist Altineller is from Turkey. Because of the high geographical affinity, we are considering exhibiting at the same conference to establish relationships with many investors and businesses. We have applied for exhibition to the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), which is the contact point for Japanese companies at the same event and also provides free exhibition space for Japanese startups.
